Tilta introduced new Tiltaing cage for the Z CAM E2. It features several 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 mounting points as well as two ARRI rosette mounting points and one cold shoe mounting point. It also supports a wide variety of accessories, handles, and powering solutions from Tilta.
Tiltaing Z CAM E2 Cage
Z CAM is a Chinese camera manufacturer, whose products are becoming quite popular. The company recently finished the development of the affordable Z CAM E2C – smaller and cheaper brother to the already quite popular Z CAM E2. At NAB 2019, Z CAM also announced new flagship 6K and 8K large sensor cameras.
The Chinese camera accessories manufacturer Tilta seems to be reorganizing their portfolio of products. While we already saw them using the name Tiltamax for certain products, there is now a new brand called Tiltaing. After having briefly checked their E-shop, it seems Tilta is currently selling their products under three names:
Please mind, that this is solely my observation. There might be a different logic behind the naming and it also might already have been divided for a while. I personally saw the Tiltaing brand for the first time during NAB 2018 when Tilta announced a crowdfunding channel for filmmakers to share their future product ideas.

Back to the main topic of this article – Tilta introduced a new cage for the Z CAM E2 under the brand Tiltaing. Let’s take a short look at its features.
The Tiltaing Z CAM E2 camera cage provides complete protective armor for the camera body while providing several 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 mounting points as well as two ARRI rosette mounting points and one cold shoe mounting point.
The base of the cage also provides several mounting holes when attaching the camera to gimbals to easily fine-tune the balance of the setup. A variety of different baseplates can be attached to the bottom of the cage, allowing for various rod mounting and optional power supply configurations.
The quick release top handle and various optional side handles can be attached to the cage to provide different ways to comfortably operate Z CAM E2 camera setup.
Tilta offers various accessories for the cage – for example, 15mm single rod holders (top/bottom/side) for the follow focus motors, HDMI clamp attachment, USB-C cable with bolts, SSD holders, and more.

Naturally, they also offer top handle and a variety of side handles, some of which can even carry a Sony NP battery and a Samsung T5 SSD inside. Tilta also offers a variety of external battery mounting options – for V Lock batteries, Gold mount batteries, Sony NP batteries, and Canon LP-E6 batteries. They offer their Z CAM cage and accessories separately or bundled into sets. As an example I found three sets on Tilta’s website:
