I know, I know, this isn’t a 4k monitor. That’s why it is in here. If you are sporting a two or more monitor setup as many editors are, you will have one or more display dedicated to your NLE’s UI only. For these displays WQHD will give you more screen real estate than a UHD display – keep in mind that while UHD has higher resolution, most operating systems treat it as a high-dpi Full-HD. One more macro lens. If you’re a Sony shooter and would like something even cheaper than the Canon 100mm macro from above, the FE 50mm F2.8 might help you out. With 1:1 magnification, focus hold, focus range limiter and a MF/AF switches on the barrel and a close focus distance of 6.3in /Â 16.02cm it will keep you close to your subject. Seven diaphragm blades should keep the Bokeh quite nice too. The Sony FEÂ 50mm Macro F2.8 will work on Sony Full frame and APS-C cameras alike.

The Atomos Shogun Inferno has 7.1 inch HDR 1500nit display and will do 4k 10 bit recording at up to 60p in codecs like ProRes, cDNG or ProRes Raw straight to affordable SSDs. With Atomos constantly improving their OS, the monitors are regularly kept up to date and functionality is expanded. You can use LUTs to monitor your footage, monitor HDR and so many features more. The Shogun Inferno runs on NP-F batteries and supports HDMI and SDI in and out.
