For a limited time only, B&H is currently running a special “Mega Deal Zone” deal, and from the hundreds of items available, we’ve isolated those that cost up to $20 and are worth considering looking at, especially if you are an independent filmmaker who is used to running & gunning with minimal equipment on your back.
Let’s start by writing that we are always very much surprised to see how B&H can come up with such great deals. In many ways, we wish it would have been easy to execute such deals in other parts of the world too, but for now, it is worth mentioning that CVP, our European retail partner, is running their sale with up to a 60% discount on selected items.
Impact Quikbox Micro On-Camera Softbox (9 x 9″). Now $19.95, savings $45: Although originally made for nestling a flashlight, this portable softbox might prove to be good for some of the portable LED lights that are popping up like crazy.
Magnus TinyGrip Flexible Tripod (Black). Now $6.95, savings $11: I’m sure that you are familiar with such a scenario when an ultra-small tripod with flexible legs is suddenly needed to execute a low-angle shot, or better yet, wrap the tripod legs around an object (a la Joby).
Robus AQR-60 Quick Release Plate: Now $9.95, savings $10: From my filming experience, an Arca-Type Quick Release Plate is always great to have in the bag. This can be attached directly to a product, or if needed, under a bigger plate in order to maintain a certain “size standard”.
Benro ArcaSmart360 Rotating Adapter Plate. Now $16.95, savings $25: I actually like this kind of adapter plate idea, where the lower part can be secured to the tripod, and the camera (for example) can be rotated upon certain needs. The locking lever is also essential in such a device, so nice to see it is included here.
Revo Suction Cup Mount with 1/4″-20 Screw. Now $9.99, savings $4: This accessory is a “no brainer”…I’m not sure I would trust it with my mirrorless camera, but connecting a small LED light or a microphone should be perfectly fine for maximum flexibility when spreading your equipment around.
Saramonic SR-C6 Watertight Dustproof Carry-On Case. Now $10, savings $25: When I saw this offer, I had to read it twice. If you are on the move and want to protect your audio gear, like microphones, recorders, and such, in a hard plastic shell, this carry-on case might be the perfect fit for you.
Angelbird 64GB AV Pro UHS-I SDXC Memory Card with 128GB Flash Drive. Now $12.99, savings $20: Depending on your camera and the resolution you are recording on, this very affordable combo for in-camera recording and a flash drive for storing images/videos is a steal.
Ruggard Fabric Rain Shield Medium (17″). Now $13.95, savings $16: Personally, I find it not so convenient to work with camera rain covers, but there are times that, for obvious reasons, such a product can be a “life saver,” so I’ve decided to include it here.
Sunpak LED-330 Video Light with Barndoors. Now $19.95, savings $80: This basic bi-color compact LED light is capable of producing 3200-5600K output, and it is 100% dimmable. The nice thing is, there are built-in barndoors and a diffusion panel. A Sony L-series-type battery and charger are included, too.
Impact 5-in-1 Collapsible Circular Reflector Disc (42″). Now $21.95, savings of $28: These collapsable reflectors might be very versatile in the field or in the studio. Although they are compact, they might be just enough to bounce a light source from them; mind you, a pivoting arm and stand are recommended to fully facilitate the functionality of such an accessory.
If you have a favorite accessory that costs less than $20, please share it with us. If we can find it at B&H, we will try and feature it here.
