Ulanzi, whose products include a wide range of accessories for photography and videography enthusiasts, has now introduced the FM01 FILMOG Ace Portable Fog Machine. With a variety of included attachments, creators can adjust to 36 fog intensity levels. Let’s see what’s included.
Larger fog machines definitely have their merits and their place on set, and some really cool ones even run on V-batteries. However, we occasionally wouldn’t mind opting for the convenience of a smaller model. The Ulanzi Fog Machine is compact, handheld, 40W (max power), weighs just 366.5g / 0.8lb, and uses rechargeable batteries, allowing it to be used anywhere without the limitations of fixed installations. There is a wireless, color-screen remote control that offers automatic cycling, continuous fogging, and timed spraying modes.
The Ulanzi Fog Machine uses rechargeable batteries and you have the option to either swap them out or recharge them using the Type-C charging port, which typically takes about 2.5 hours. The remote recharges in 1.5 hours. The remote control can operate from a maximum of 10 meters and has a battery runtime of 10 minutes at full power when fully charged. It is also temperature-controlled through a heat shield and a high-grade borosilicate tank to prevent overheating.
The device comes with a 1/4-inch screw mounting adapter head, and accessories include straight and bent tubes, a sponge filter, and a flex hose giving users control over the direction of the fog output. Additionally, it comes with a carrying bag.
Food-grade, non-toxic, odor-free vegetable glycerin is used for fog production, and the company claims it is suitable for use around people, food, and beverages.
Portable smoke/fog machines seem to become the latest trend. Recently we covered the Lensgo Smoke B fog machine, which is also hand-held. Its runtime is about 18 minutes, and it comes with quite a few more accessories.
The Ulanzi FM01 FILMOG Ace Portable Fog Machine can be pre-ordered at the special price of $79.95, starting November 13th. The retail price will be $109. Please note that the product can only be shipped to specific countries. For more information, please visit the Ulanzi website.
