The United Nations has created an open brief for creatives to produce content to help the battle against Coronavirus.
The UN Secretary-Generals message to creatives.
The United Nations have created an open brief, calling on creatives from across the world to band together and generate content to help raise awareness and spread advice on how to combat the global covid-19 crisis.
This isn’t just directed at videographers and filmmakers. Influencers, community groups, media owners and anyone else are all encouraged to produce and share content that follows the five briefs below:
Those five briefs can be delivered in many different formats, from social videos to podcasts, animations. A great example of ‘Kindness contagion’ is that on the 26th of March at 8pm in the UK, people stood outside their houses or at their windows and applauded, cheered, let off fireworks for all of the frontline and NHS workers. An initiative that had national support and news coverage.
Anyone can take part.
Please follow this link to read the full open brief from the United Nations, which has lots of information and inspiration too.
If you have been documenting your life or community (from a safe distance) over the last week or month, your content could be used as part of this drive for content.
The UN plans to publish the work across global channels on social media, radio, broadcast, streaming platforms and digital publishers. They are encouraging multi-language content too, as the pandemic is affecting everyone.
Please be aware that this is not a paid opportunity, which is unfortunate as we are all seeking paid word at present. However, it is a chance to switch off Netflix, get the creative juices flowing and produce content that could have a global audience, for the greater good.
In times like this, where many creatives are twiddling their thumbs due to lack of work, this is an opportunity to collaborate with a worldwide organization and document how the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting your life and your community. Remember to stay safe and follow any government guidelines.
Are you looking for a creative challenge? Have you been looking for a way to document this time of global crisis? Let us know in the comments.
