The update for Adobe Lightroom was released today, which is available as both part of Creative Cloud and as a standalone application.
It’s been almost two years since Adobe updated its popular photography application. But this update doesn’t appear to be a major overhaul of the software. While there are some interesting new features the biggest improvement seems to be in processing power. Lightroom now uses GPU acceleration to boost overall speed and performance. But it doesn’t look like Lightroom CC (or as the standalone application is named, Lightroom 6) has any new video features. However, now that the software is officially part of Creative Cloud we can expect to see more regular updates in the future.
Lightroom CC is available now for Creative Cloud Complete plan subscribers. It is also part of Creative Cloud Photography plan for $9.99/month, or as a standalone application (Lightroom 6) for $149.
