Vaxis recently released a Gold-Mount dual-voltage wireless TX cradle compatible with Vaxis and Teradek Bolt 6 wireless video transmitters. This cradle supports 14.4V and 28V power inputs and features two D-Tap power outputs. So let’s take a closer look at this handy cradle for mounting and powering a wireless video transmitter!
Chinese manufacturer Vaxis is mainly known for its wireless video monitoring solutions, such as their Atom 600 KV wireless video module for the RED Komodo or the affordable Atom 500 SDI/HDMI system.
More recently, the company started manufacturing camera accessories and 95mm filters for the Tilta Mirage matte box, which was surprising since filters and wireless video systems are significantly different. This time, Vaxis is back to its specialty with a handy accessory: a dual-voltage wireless TX cradle.
The Dual-Voltage Wireless TX Cradle is a Gold-Mount accessory that attaches directly to the back of your camera or power distribution box. This cradle has pass-through power capabilities, so you don’t need extra powering cables. This dual-voltage wireless TX cradle is made entirely of aluminum and weighs 1.07 lbs/485g.
As its name suggests, this cradle accepts either 14.4V or 28V Gold-Mount batteries, depending on the camera you’re using. On the right side, you’ll find two 15V D-Tap power output ports to power camera accessories or, more logically, your wireless video transmitter.
In the middle of the Dual-Voltage Wireless TX Cradle is a quick-release plate that attaches to your wireless video transmitter. This quick-release plate features two 1/4″-20 screws for Vaxis (and other brands) transmitters and two M3 screw holes designed explicitly for Teradek Bolt 6 transmitters.
The Vaxis Dual-Voltage Wireless TX Cradle is available now for $599.
