XEEN Meister 14mm T2.6 and 24mm T1.3 Full-Frame Lenses Announced

XEEN has just announced the addition of two new wide-angle lenses inside its Meister lineup: a 14mm T2.6 and a 24mm T1.3. Like the XEEN Meister 35/50/85mm T1.3, these wide-angle lenses feature a 43.2mm image circle and cover full-frame image sensors. Also, they have 13 iris blades, the focus ring has 300° of rotation, and they’ll be available in either PL, Canon EF, or Sony E-Mount. So, let’s take a closer look at them!

The XEEN Meister primes were introduced in November 2021 with three focal lengths: 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm, all with a maximum aperture of T1.3. The Meister primes cover full-frame image sensors. Overall, the lenses have interesting specifications, but very little footage shot with them was available online. More importantly, the announcement did not include any information regarding pricing.

Last year, XEEN unveiled the price of the Meister primes: $21,995 for the three-lens set. XEEN is mainly known for its affordable pieces of glass, and with a cost per lens at $8,495, only a few saw that coming. Indeed, at that price point, you’re asking for more money than well-established brands and lens sets, such as the ZEISS CP.3, SIGMA High-Speed, Tokina Vista, Canon Summire, etc. To this day, I have not seen the XEEN Meister primes hit the rental houses or any project shot with them.

Back to our topic, XEEN has just announced the inclusion of two new lenses in their lineup: a 14mm T2.6 and a 24mm T1.3.

XEEN Meister Prime 14mm T2.6 and 24mm T1.3 – features

Like every lens set at this price point, the new XEEN Meister 14mm T2.6 and 24mm T1.3 have a lot in common with the other lenses in the set, including:

• A 43.2mm image circle that covers full-frame image sensors.
• A 114mm front diameter, except for the 14mm T2.6, which is 134mm. The front barrel is made of titanium.
• 13 aperture blades.
• A 300-degree focus throw. The aperture and focus gear rings are at the same position between each lens. Also, the scales are on both sides of the lens and feature a luminous font.
• Available in either Canon EF, Sony E, or PL mount.
• The PL mount version supports the Cooke i-Technology protocol that can record the lens metadata.
• According to XEEN, the lenses all feature the same X-coating that “effectively controls the internal light reflections to create a distinctive look, with flare and ghosting for dramatic effects.”

It’s nice to see XEEN expanding their lineup of Meister primes with wide-angle lenses, as 35mm is a bit long if you want to shoot in tight spaces.

Pricing and availability

There is no information regarding the price or availability of these new XEEN Meister 14mm T2.6 and 24mm T1.3 lenses. It shouldn’t be too much of a risk to say that both lenses could retail for at least $8,495. If you are attending IBC 2023 in Amsterdam next week, you can see the lenses at XEEN’s booth.
