On the heels of the Redrock Micro EVF announcement Zacuto has announced a new EVF to work with their existing Z Finder. This can only be a good thing that these two giants of HDSLR accessories are providing similar products around the same time with competitive pricing. The Red rock Micro EVF will cost around $600 US and the Zacuto Z Finder EVF will cost just under $800 US. It will be interesting to see who gets to market first. Here is a rip from their site.
“Zacuto Z-Finder EVF 3.2” monitor has higher resolution than DSLR LCD screens. These screens have a resolution of 640×480 on a 3:2 aspect ratio screen. Therefore, you only effectively see the resolution at 640×360 in 16×9. The Zacuto Z-Finder EVF monitor resolution is a true 800×480 making the resolution 56% greater than the on-board DSLR camera screens. The Zacuto monitor also has a tighter dot pitch which also improves the quality, making you see a much tighter pixel pattern. The Z-Finder EVF is currently in prototype stages.
