I came up through the ranks as a camera assistant, so Zeiss glass was very familiar to me. When the Canon 5D MK II finally came out. I naturally looked for some good used Zeiss lenses. www.keh.com has a great selection. The Zeiss ZF Nikon mount glass was out but they were just beginning to release the Canon EF mount lenses. The Zeiss ZE’s. I always knew about the coating but never knew what the T* (Pronounced T-Star) meant. Cinema5D cameraman Chris Collins got the chance to ask Zeiss Rep Richard Schleuning what that little T* symbol on the front of the lens meant. The formula dates back to 1935. Richard does a great job of describing the anti-reflective coating and how it works for cinema.
