The ZEISS Cinema Americas Spotlights Film Festival Week 2022 is a free virtual event full of interesting content. It starts today at 12 pm PST (3 pm EST) with the cinematographer’s roundtable and continues on Tuesday, January 25, with the discussion with Matthew Chuang, ACS.
By now it already seems that actual physical events are a relic from the past century. No, I am just joking. Hopefully, we will be back to real events soon. In the meantime, we have to make use of virtual events, which in my opinion won’t ever disappear again either. I think in the post-covid time, virtual and physical events will co-exist, making use of whatever is more convenient.
Anyway, starting today ZEISS is hosting a free virtual film festival week as a supporting event for the Park City Sundance Festival (check our 2020 recap) and the first event on the schedule is a cinematographer’s roundtable. Let’s take a look at the details.
The first event of this year’s ZEISS Cinema Americas Spotlights Film Festival Week is an in-depth roundtable featuring six cinematographers – each with a project screening at the Park City festival. Guest cinematographers and their selected films include:
The event’s host Snehal Patel will talk to the filmmakers about their selected films including workflow, creative choices, and more. The roundtable will be followed by a lively Q&A with the audience. This free event will be held today at 12 pm PST (3 pm EST, 9 pm CET). To register for the cinematographer’s roundtable free of charge, please visit the following ZEISS Zoom webinar website.
ZEISS film festival week continues on Tuesday, January 25, 12 pm PST (3 pm EST, 9 pm CET) with featured guest cinematographer Matthew Chuang, ACS. Matthew’s latest horror movie You Won’t Be Alone (Focus Pictures) will make its world premiere at Sundance 2022.
The cinematographer, known for features, music videos, and award-winning commercials, will talk about creative choices and technical solutions for the new entry as well as previous works including The Babadook and The Nightingale.
Also on the agenda is his collaboration with director Allen Hughes on the five-part FX Network and Disney documentary series Outlaw: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur, scheduled for a spring release. To register for the discussion with Matthew Chuang, ACS, free of charge, please visit the following ZEISS Zoom webinar website.
Do you think virtual film festivals are here to stay or co-exist with real film festivals? Are you going to attend the cinematographer’s roundtable today? Let us know in the comments section underneath the article.
