The SmallHD DP7-PRO now supports color standards REC 709 and DCI-P3, offering accurate color reference monitoring in small 7″ form.
The DP7-PRO, SmallHD’s latest monitor is an impressive package. It offers a 7″ screen in a variety of LCD and OLED panels, including a High Bright (HB) model suited for outdoor shooting.
Every panel offers 1280X800 resolution, 8 bit color depth and 80º viewing angle. HDMI and optional SDI in/out. The OLED panels offer 10,000:1 contrast ratio, whilst the LCDs offer 800:1. The monitor is 7.3in x 5.1in x .9in in dimension, and weighs 1.2lbs.
I’m a DP6 user (previous model), and love my monitor. The 7″ upgrade has put me off a little (it’s quite large for DSLR work). However the accurate color space is vital in a professional workflow. It’s taken time tweaking my DP6 and learning how what I see on the panel relates to what I see in the edit.
For more information on the DP7-PRO, including purchase visit the SmallHD website.
