Meet Nixie, a micro drone that wraps around your arm and at the flick of a wrist, takes off to snap photo/video of yourself in action.
If the arms lengths, high angle self portrait photo isn’t your thing, or none of your buddies are close by/exist, this could be the device for you. Nixie is a small drone autonomous drone that will automatically take video or photo of you before returning back.
The device has is part of the Intel Make It Wearable contest, and in turn is designed to wrap around arm; the flexible rotor arms double up in an almost slap bracelet fashion to secure to your wrist.
The camera is tiny and does not suspend inside a gimbal, so don’t expect this to compete on a level we’re used to in the filmmaking industry. It’s a very interesting concept though which, will no doubt have a great deal of appeal, providing it looks cool.
