The new Dell 8K monitor announced by the technology giant last week at CES 2017 in Las Vegas is the world’s first 32-inch 8K production-ready monitor. This eye-popping screen with its 33.2 million pixels of resolution will be shipping in late March of 2017.  Details and pricing below:Â

If RED Cinema and Dell have taught us anything, it is that 4K is apparently soooo last year. But if your graphics card can survive the journey to powering up, this monitor has more than 1 billion colors to offer, 100% Adobe RGB and sRGB 10-bit color gamut and an impressive 280 ppi (pixels per inch).
The display, dubbed UP3218K, is clearly marketed squarely at the kind of post production professional working with images or video with five grand collecting dust in their bank account. The UP3218K’s resolution is 7680 x 4320, which is comparable to the pixel density of 16 HD displays, or four 4K displays.
In related news, a group known as The HDMI Forum has announced version 2.1 of HDMI cable specs this week. Scheduled for release in Q2 of 2017, version 2.1 specs will support HDR and resolutions as high as 10K 120fps, which will undoubtedly pave the way for more monster-resolution displays in the future.
Not quite ready to pull the trigger on an 8K monitor? Dell’s 5K LED UP2715K does the job just fine and is over $3,000 cheaper. Available from B&H HERE.
