We already had the smaller version of the just announced Accsoon Power Cage Pro in for review (check it out here). This larger version supports a full-size 12.9” Apple iPad Pro and turns it into a set-compatible piece of equipment that you can work with all day (as a display in conjunction with a wireless video transmitter for example).
The Accsoon Power Cage is a pretty straightforward, yet very handy product. It’s essentially a cage for an Apple iPad, but with a twist. It also sports a Sony NP-F battery mount and with that, you can pretty much power your iPad all day long with one or two batteries.
The new -bigger- version of the Accsoon Power Cage wraps a 12.9” iPad Pro in a rugged precision-cut aluminum alloy casing that offers robust protection and yet weighs just 420g. Furthermore it sports a bunch of industry-standard 1/4″-20 threads for mounting the iPad to almost anything. You also could attach handgrips to both sides and transform it into a director’s monitor.
But the new Pro model also sports a built-in desk stand that allows the iPad to be stood conveniently on a suitable flat surface. The built-in dampening of the stand mechanism means it can be placed at the perfect angle for viewing.
Included with the cage comes a USB-A to USB-C and a USB-A to Lighning cable for connecting the 12,9″ iPad Pro to the NP-F battery.
If you want to use your iPad as a display in conjunction with a wireless video transmitter, you should take closer look at Accsoon’s CineEye 2S Pro range of products plus their free app called Accsoon Go.
Pricing for the Accsoon Power Cage Pro is $169.
