ARRI has just released a new update for the ALEXA Mini LF. The new SUP 7.3 (Software Update package) focuses on control and interface improvement. Let’s see what’s new!
When ARRI announced the ALEXA Mini LF, the result was a camera with the ALEXA LF’s sensor in the body of the ALEXA Mini. The ALEXA Mini soon became the perfect b-cam for productions shot with its big sister. We did a Lab Test of the ALEXA Mini LF for those interested in the camera’s possibilities.
Let’s see what’s been added in this update since the last software update (SUP 7.2) release in February 2023!
The first notable added feature is support for ARRI’s Camera Control Monitor CCM-1. This monitor provides complete camera control and improves the camera’s viewfinder functionality.
Another addition is the enabled touchscreen operation on the MVF-2 viewfinder’s flip-out monitor. The new update unlocks full touchscreen functionality for a faster workflow.
Other features included in the SUP 7.3’s release notes are:
ARRI recommends updating from ALEXA Mini LF SUP 7.2 but advises against doing so during production. The update can take 20 minutes approx., and users can always down date to previous versions.
