Cartoni has just announced three new lightweight and super-quick tripod systems: the Cartoni RED LOCK Focus. These new tripods feature a 75mm or 100mm bowl mount, they weigh between 5.8 kg to 6.5 kg and can take payloads of up to 12kg. Let’s take a closer look at these!

Last year, Cartoni introduced a lightweight set of tripod legs called RED LOCK. Made of aluminum, this lightweight two-stage tripod weighs only 3kg/6.6lbs, and can take a tremendous amount of weight: up to 60kg/132 lbs. The Cartoni RED LOCK can take 75mm and 100mm bowl heads, thanks to a user-swappable step-up ring.
The two features that make this set of sticks fast to set up and break down are the quick-collapse system and, as the name suggests, the red locks. Indeed, the quick-collapse system allows you to quickly collapse all three legs with just one ring and a belt.
If you have not seen it already, you can take a look at our first-look video during IBC 2019 below.
If you are in the market for an entire tripod system, Cartoni has just introduced three new tripod kits that include the RED LOCK tripod legs and a Cartoni Focus tripod head.
You have the choice between the Cartoni Focus 8, Focus 10, and Focus 12. All three models come with the RED LOCK tripod legs. These tripods can go from a minimum height of 66cm and extend to 162cm, with a folded height of 90cm.
Below is a sheet that sums up all the differences and features of each model.
As you can see, the main differences between each model are the payload capacity, bowl diameter, and total weight of the system.
All three models will be available soon, and you can already pre-order them. The Cartoni RED LOCK Focus 8 retails for $949.00/€891.72, the Cartoni RED LOCK Focus 10 is $1699.00/€1,219.96, and the Cartoni RED LOCK Focus 12 costs $2465.00/€1,398.26. All three models are available with a ground-spreader or mid-level spreader, at the same price.
What do you think of these new Cartoni RED LOCK Focus tripods? Did you already use a Cartoni tripod before? Let us know in the comments below!
