Here’s a quick overview of the Lens Database, which is part of the CineD Databases, launched in August 2022. Keep reading or watch our quick tutorial video on how to find technical details on a variety of modern and vintage photo and cine lenses.
Let’s dive right in: On the overview page, you can see all the available categories from spherical zooms and primes, to anamorphic zooms and primes, as well as photo zooms and primes, to choose from. Each category contains a very long catalog of lenses reaching from current modern to vintage lenses.
Disclaimer: Some lenses in the database are very old or the manufacturer just hasn’t published all of the data that is collected, so you might experience empty fields in the lens tables.
The following filters are available to make it easier for you to find what you are looking for:
You can also find buy links from our partners B&H, CVP, and Fujiya Camera where you can buy the lenses. We also have a quick guide on how to compare cameras using our Camera Database.
Like all CineD Databases, the Lens Database is free to use – However, if you want to use the filters, you will be asked to log in to your CineD account or create one for free. After logging in, you can continue using the tool without restrictions.
I hope this gave you a good overview of the features that the Lens Database has to offer. Please leave a comment below on what you think about the Lens Database and if you are missing any significant features!
