A while ago, DoPchoice announced the SNAPBAG light modifier for the Litepanels’ Astra IP fixtures. Featuring a tulip shape, the softbox’s new design helps with the setup and gives more control and possibilities to the Astra IP. Let’s take a closer look.
DoPchoice, a company offering LED light modifying solutions for filmmakers, has a Tulip-Style SNAPBAG for the Astra IP in their portfolio, taking as a starting point the popular SNAPBAG snap-up softbox.
The SNAPBAG’s tulip shape, combined with the fixture’s flat yoke, improves its handling and increases the downward tilt angle by 30°. The softbox features a parabolic curve architecture and DoPchoice’s proprietary Snapshape material, eliminating the need for skeletal ribs or rods. The output of the light intensifies thanks to the silver reflective interior, and users can control the light quality with a direct-fit 40° Snapgrid and more diffusions available for a softer output.
The Astra IP SNAPBAG softbox is lightweight and opens in a snap, which helps attach to the fixture quickly. Two elastic straps make the adjustments easy and quick, fastening to the rear of the light to secure the SNAPBAG. The straight yoke of the Astra allows for more compact stacking and storage.
The SNAPBAG softbox for the Astra IP can be acquired in three sizes to fit the Astra IP Half, 1×1 and 2×1, and they are compatible with Litepanels’ original Astra and with 1×1 Snapbag accessories, including Snapgrids.
The three models can be pre-ordered now for $295 for the Half, $333 for the 1×1, and $428 for the 2×1. For more information, please visit DoPchoice’s product website here.
