Duclos Lenses has partnered with SIGMA to offer a free lens clinic in Burbank, California, where attendees can bring their lenses in for free cleaning and inspection (from ANY brand). Plus, Matthew Duclos will give a basic course about lens care. Let’s have a look!
Duclos Lenses is a lens solutions company located in Burbank, California. Founded in 2002 by Paul, Matthew, and Michelle Duclos, it has continued to grow and expand and has also become one of SIGMA’s authorized dealers in the US. Before co-founding Duclos Lenses, Paul Duclos gained experience working at Angenieux, Clairmont Camera, and Kish Optics. He was in charge not only of maintaining and repairing lenses but also of helping develop new lenses and products.
Duclos lenses offer a wide range of lenses, accessories, and services, like lens conversions or the popular Cine-Mods, well-known by those wanting to modify their still photo lenses for filmmaking purposes. They are now partnering with SIGMA, the Japanese company, to offer a free lens clinic at SIGMA’s Burbank showroom. Attendees can bring their lenses in for free cleaning and an examination by Duclos Lenses technicians.
And there is more! While your lenses are being cleaned, lens technician and engineer Matthew Duclos will give an introductory course on how to check and maintain your cinema lenses properly. In this era of over-information, when it’s easy to get lost, the opportunity to personally speak with proper lens professionals and authorized service technicians, ask questions, and listen to their advice is quite unique. If you are simply curious about lens care and optics, or even if you are more on the creative than the technical side, these clinics are always a chance to learn aspects of the craft we don’t usually pay much attention to.
The free clinic will take place at SIGMA’s Burbank showroom (148 S. Victory Blvd., Burbank, CA 91502) on January 19th, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. To reserve your spot, please visit this link.
Just between us, did you ever bring your lenses for a proper cleaning session? Will you consider attending the Duclos-SIGMA event? Have you attended similar clinics in the past? Let us know in the comments below!
