If you have been waiting for a price drop to put your hands on one of the currently available Panasonic mirrorless cameras, here’s your chance. In fact, B&H and CVP are now offering some significant discounts on many LUMIX models.
Please note: Some offers will last only until February 12th at 11:59PM EST.UPDATE: These deals are now over but you can still check occasionally to find great offers!
The legendary Panasonic GH series set a milestone for the mirrorless revolution. The Lumix GH4 and GH5 rapidly became some of the most popular tools among filmmakers. This was made possible by their compact size and impressive image quality. The company then embraced the full-frame trend by introducing the powerful “S” series.
Although the wait for the long-anticipated GH6 is finally over, the thought of purchasing one of the current camera models can still be tempting. Even more so when B&H and CVP are starting to populate with deals on almost the entire Panasonic mirrorless lineup.
In fact, the stores are now offering discounts on many MTF and full-frame camera models that can save you up to $500 on your purchase. However, with such a vast variety of products, it can be hard to pick one.
So here’s a quick overview of the best Panasonic mirrorless cameras that are currently on sale on B&H and CVP. You will find my recommendations based on your budget and goals with a focus on the GH and S-series. Keep in mind that some offers ended on February 12th at 11:59PM EST, but there are still some great deals happening!

If you are hybrid shooter who really wants to produce professional stills and videos, while still keeping an eye on the budget, then the Panasonic GH5 is the most affordable option I would recommend.
Its 20.3MP Micro Four Thirds stabilized sensor offers plenty of resolution for most still photography applications. Moreover, the camera is capable of producing high-quality 4:2:2 10-bit videos in 4K UHD up to 30fps and 4K DCI up to 24fps. However, if your main focus is on shooting videos, then the GH5S is a more suitable (although pricier) option.
The original GH5 is still a great hybrid camera overall and the go-to option if budget is a concern. But if you don’t mind spending a little extra amount, I suggest taking a look at the upgraded GH5 II.
The GH5S is a video-centric version of the original GH5. In my opinion, it’s the filmmakers’ go-to model in the GH lineup, especially if you need FullHD 240p slow-motion or 4K DCI. In this resolution, the camera can shoot up…
The GH5S is a video-centric version of the original GH5. In my opinion, it’s the filmmakers’ go-to model in the GH lineup, especially if you need FullHD 240p slow-motion or 4K DCI. In this resolution, the camera can shoot up to 30fps in 4:2:2 10-bit and up to 60fps in 4:2:0 8-bit.
Compared the original GH5, the GH5S unfortunately lacks sensor stabilization, but it’s a better low light performer. It features fewer, but larger pixels, Dual ISO and an extended sensitivity range. Moreover, it comes with the V-Log L curve pre-installed.
Despite its four years of age, the GH5S just interestingly gained a new life thanks to a recent firmware update. The new software enables external 4K DCI RAW recording via HDMI up to 60fps, turning this product into a future-proof RAW capable camera.

Moreover, it provides a series of wired and wireless connections that make it ideal for high-resolution video live streaming.
Other improvements that justify the price gap with its predecessor include sensor AR coating, better autofocus and sensor stabilization, USB-C power supply, a brighter LCD screen and a higher capacity battery.

It can record 4:2:2 10-bit video internally in 4K UHD up to 60fps using the pre-installed V-Log L gamma curve. Moreover, the camera can output a 5.9K RAW signal up to 30fps over its Micro HDMI port. This data can then be recorded externally using the Atomos NINJA V.
The S5 packs a lot of value into its sleek and lightweight body. However, if you’re looking for video recording capabilities without any limitation, you should take a look at the S1H flagship model.

The Panasonic S1H is the company’s flagship model. It’s their most capable hybrid camera to date and it’s even Netflix approved. It represents the perfect option for hybrid shooters who refuse to compromise on image quality.
It features a 24.2MP full-frame sensor with an efficient 5-axis stabilization technology and Dual Native ISO. Along with internal 4K 4:2:2 10-bit recording, the S1H can output a 5.9K full-frame RAW signal up to 30fps via HDMI as well as DCI 4K RAW at 60fps with a S35 crop. Moreover, it is also a great option if you plan on shooting with anamorphic lenses.
The S1H is packed with professional video features that the S5 lacks, like true DCI 4K 24fps recording, shutter angle display and a heat dissipation fan that allows for unlimited recording times. It also has better overall ergonomics and a fully-articulated screen. If you’re looking for a camera that does it all, then the S1H is the best option in the lineup.

This combo will allow you to shoot pristine full-frame 5.9K RAW up to 30fps, S35 4K RAW up to 60p and S35 3.5K Anamorphic 4:3 RAW up to 50fps.
