ImageTrack RT is a real-time color sampling and control system integrated into Prolycht’s free Chroma Link iOS lighting control app. It can track a portion of the image from the camera feed, and control the connected Prolycht lights to match the color.
This interesting technology, based on a technical partnership between Accsoon and Prolycht and teased during this year’s NAB show in Las Vegas, has now been officially announced.
Accsoon is a Chinese company well-known for their wireless video transmission devices. It has been quite a few years since they caught our attention with the first CineEye device, and since then the company has released a variety of new products.
The latest one, Accsoon SeeMo Pro, improves on the original SeeMo device by adding an SDI port, better powering options, better build quality, etc. In fact, we have a video interview about the new SeeMo Pro from the NAB 2023 show in Las Vegas. Make sure to check it out in case you missed it.
Prolycht is a Chinese lighting company that specializes in full-color LED lights. Prolycht Orion 300 FS (our field review here), followed by the more powerful 675 FS (NAB 2022 video here), are both full-color LED spotlights that have been on the market for quite some time. One of the easiest ways to control the lights is with the Prolycht Chroma Link app.
Thanks to the new technical partnership between Accsoon and Prolycht, there is now a new add-on to the Chroma Link app with the potential to make life easier for (not only) virtual productions with dynamic lighting conditions. Let’s take a quick look at the new ImageTrack RT.
The ImageTrack RT is a new function that will be integrated directly into Prolycht’s free Chroma Link iOS lighting control app. With ImageTrack RT, the app can “see” SDI or HDMI signals from a camera via Accsoon SeeMo Pro SDI or SeeMo HDMI iOS adapters. The color output of connected Prolycht Orion RGBACL LED lights can then be accurately matched or tracked to the colors of light sources or objects exactly as the camera sees them.
Once the app has the ability to see the image, a color can be matched either using the Color Picker tool as a one-time setting or set to real-time tracking where the assigned point of the image is used to mirror fast-changing dynamic lighting.
The ImageTrack RT system has a few potential uses:
A small, medium, or large-sized area on the screen is selected as the sample area. This is then positioned over the desired portion of the image and a reading is taken. The sampled color is then sent to the Orion light by the app and can also be stored as a preset to be recalled later.
For Full-time tracking the user can then select up to eight points to track the image and assign a different Orion LED light, or group of lights, to match each one. The intensity of each light, or group of lights, can be set separately.
This Hyperlight color engine is used by the Prolycht Orion 675 FS and 300 FS LED spotlights, as well as the new dedolight neo color fixture. All three fixtures can be controlled by the Chroma Link app and will work with Imagetrack RT.
The ImageTrack RT is integrated into the Prolycht Chroma Link app and is therefore available free of charge. It is currently available as a beta version and can already be downloaded from the Apple app store. As the Accsoon SeeMo Pro is only compatible with iOS devices, it is unlikely that this feature will come to the Android version of the Chroma Link app too. We will keep you posted if this changes in the future.
Do you use any of the Prolycht LED lights? What do you think about the new ImageTrack RT with the Accsoon SeeMo Pro? Let us know in the comments section underneath the article.
