Konvision has announced the release of the A7S, a touchscreen 7” 4K60p recording monitor with a peak brightness of 1500nits. The monitor features tools like waveform, false color, and SDI and HDMI ports. Let’s take a look at it!
Konvision is a Chinese company that manufactures broadcasting video equipment. Established in 2009, the brand specializes in monitors like this A7S – a 7” monitor with interesting features, ProRes recording capabilities, and 12G-SDI and HDMI2.0 input/outputs.
The Konvision A7S offers ProRes 422/422HQ and 422LT recording and supports up to 4K60p signals. According to the company, each unit is color-calibrated using precision tools like the Klein K10-A and CR300, offering 1.07 billion color depth and the ability to import custom 3D LUTs.
The A7S features 1500nits of peak brightness, which makes it suitable for outdoor shooting. To make life easier, the unit offers multiple camera log curves for more accurate monitoring and tools like waveform, vectorscope, focus assist, false color, zebras, frame guides, anamorphic desqueeze, etc. The user interface can be customized to our liking for a quicker workflow. An exciting feature is the possibility of recording time-lapse from the monitor independently from the camera controls.
Regarding power, connectivity, and storage options, the A7S by Konvision supports dual NP-F batteries and DC power, which is hot-swappable for continuous operation. For recording, the A7S supports standard SSD drives. The unit can record up to 4K60P 10-bit signals with 12G-SDI and HDMI2.0 input/output cross-conversion.
The Konvision A7S will be available in the following weeks with a retail price of €1,336.93, including taxes. For more information about the product, please visit the Konvision website here.
