LumaTouch is the company responsible for LumaFusion, a multitrack editing platform for iOS, Android, and Chrome OS, whose latest major update we covered one year ago. Now, they are releasing a new update, LumaFusion 4.1.1, with some exciting features for iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max users. Let’s take a look!
In 2023, smartphones and portable devices like the iPad differ entirely from what they were ten years ago. Nowadays, when we talk about smartphones, what comes to our minds is more a computer, a multitasking device, than a phone itself. For many professionals, it is their office, typewriter, meeting room, music studio, and, in our sector, editing room.
Of course, we mainly use our desk computers and laptops for the ‘serious’ stuff. Still, as smartphones and tablets bridge the gap, many companies are launching interesting editing platforms to make mobile editing a real option. In this aspect, LumaFusion offers many tools required to finish a video, and a multitouch interface designed specifically for the touch screen, making the most of the smartphone’s unique characteristics.
One of the main features of the new iPhone 15 series is the ability to record our videos directly onto portable hard drives. This option has opened a new market field and put companies to work developing new apps and products that fit this new feature. We recently covered the OWC Drive Speed app and the SSD Grip, to name a few.
LumaTouch is one of those companies, and with the release of this LumaFusion 4.1.1 update, the app became the first video editing platform for iOS that supports external drive editing on the iPhone 15 Pro models. Users can now use the USB-C connection to shoot and finish a video on the spot. To ensure compatibility and flawless performance, the LumaTouch team has tested the most popular external drives, like the Samsung T7 and SanDisk Extreme SSD drives. Of course, fast drives and cables are essential for seamless and trouble-free editing.
Another new feature of Lumafusion 4.1.1 is Apple Log support, including the Apple deLog LUT for advanced and more precise color correction. LumaTouch has teamed up with Stu Maschwitz, the creator of Prolost.com, to develop this deLog LUT as a base start for a more natural Apple Log color grade.
LumaFusion 4.1.1 is now available at the Apple App Store as a free update for existing users. New customers can download it for $29.99. For more information, please visit the LumaTouch website here.
What do you think about LumaFusion? Does it offer all the tools you need for your editing style? Let us know in the comments!
