Magic Animate V3 Released – Animate Without Keyframes in DaVinci Resolve

YouTuber MrAlexTech has just released a new version of his animation tool Magic Animate for DaVinci Resolve. As with previous versions, Magic Animate allows you to create animations without using keyframes, therefore saving a lot of time. Let’s see what it can do!

Free and paid versions of Magic Animate V3

The plugin is available as a free or a paid version. The free version already includes loads of functionalities like:

• Animating zooms, whips, spins, and dissolves without using keyframes
• Choosing whether the animations will show on in-and-out, only on in or only on out
• Choosing the exact start and end positions
• Delaying the start or end times of the animation
• Changing animation curves; custom curves are also available

The paid version has these features, plus:

• Animate Custom
  This one is used to create your custom presets. Change the settings to create whatever you want, then go to the Admin tab and disable everything you don’t need (this will make the UI cleaner AND improve performance). Go to Save and save the preset!!
• Animate Custom (BASICS)
  As above but by default, it only has the core basic animations enabled! Handy for creating simpler actions.
• Custom BG
  The custom tool but with a background tool as well. Change the color, add a gradient, or even a custom image. When your main asset (video etc) moves out of the way, the colored background is revealed.
• Custom Depth
  As above but with a super cool ‘Bokeh/Depth’ effect as well. Designed for slide shows really. Try adding a Zoom in/out and adjust the blurriness levels!
• Custom Text (under Titles, not Effects)
  This is a simple Title with a colored background BUT with all the animation controls of Magic Animate V3! So you can whip, zoom, and spin your titles.
• Custom Reveal
  The Text Reveal has text built-in, so you can move your main footage out of the way to reveal a simple title. You can layer two videos on top of each other and reveal the one beneath.

There are presets included as well:

• Facecams – For Picture-in-Picture
• Reveal – Sidebars, lower thirds
• Simple Anims – In/Out transitions and simple Logo Animations
• Slides – Made for photos and slideshows
• Text Reveal – Move the video out of the way to show simple titles
