Here’s a great little piece of kit for compact rod solutions. The Rhino Mount from Redrock Micro is a simple 6″ 15mm rod with a Cold Shoe mount on one side for connecting directly to the top of small cameras.
Simple and non exciting as it may seem, this can save you a lot of hassle and weight as a gimbal operator.
Wireless follow focus systems are fantastic, but weight soon adds up when considering the motor, driver, cables and not the mention mounting it all to the camera.
The Redrock Micro Rhino Mount is a simple solution, 6″ rod with a Cold Shoe mount on one end.
It will bypass conventional, heavier solutions; top plates with single rod clamps, lightweight baseplate or a half cage.
The Rhino Mount bolts straight to the top of the camera allowing a very lightweight setup for wireless follow focus systems like the microRemote.
