SmallHD has released firmware 3.0 for their DP7-PRO monitors. The update features live colour grading for viewing on your monitor or sending downstream via SDI/HDMI. Firmware version 3.0 is available for download now and will ship with all new DP7-PRO units.

SmallHD have teased us with this feature since NAB back in April, but firmware 3.0 is now available for download.
It tackles an arising problem on set; looking at a raw or log image can make it hard to determine the final output image, particularly if eyes on set are not always that of a technical mind, i.e the end client.
It’s not a new problem, but with more and more affordable cameras coming to market that shoot in raw or a form of log, it’s one that is becoming more regular.
The SmallHD DP7-PRO solves this issue, allowing you to make quick, non destructive adjustments to the appearance of your image. What’s great is that you can send this adjustment downstream to a client monitor via SDI/HDMI, and view the source (or you own LUT) on your DP7-PRO.
I’ve owned and still use a SmallHD DP6 for a while, and absolutely love it. The DC7-PRO is SmallHDs current flagship line of on-camera monitors. Features such as signal conversion (HDMI/SDI IN, HDMI/SDI OUT) high bright OLED solutions, and advanced custom LUT support make them a very attractive package.
For current users, SmallHD DP7-PRO Firmware 3.0 is available for download here. You can check out SmallHD at IBC this weekend, or view their full line on products on the SmallHD website.
