Ulanzi recently launched a new MagSafe-compatible system for iPhones and smartphones: the 52mm MagFilter magnetic filter kit. As its name suggests, this system uses 52mm filters covering all of your smartphone’s lenses. The filters attach magnetically to the MagFilter/MagSafe mount, and it comes with six filters. So, let’s take a closer look at it!
Since its release, the iPhone has been one of the world’s most used photo/video cameras. The iPhone 15 Pro was released last year and added a USB-C port, making this smartphone more powerful than ever. Numerous companies launched SSD mounts, camera rigs, and filter systems specifically designed for the newest iPhone. Ulanzi is joining the smartphone filter party by releasing their 52mm MagFilter magnetic filter kit.
The Ulanzi 52mm MagFilter magnetic filter kit consists of one adapter ring that attaches to the MagSafe magnetic point at the back of your smartphone. You can use the system with or without a case, and it is also compatible with Ulanzi’s O-Lock quick-release case.
Once the adapter ring is installed, you only have to position a filter in front of your smartphone lenses. The filters don’t screw to the ring but are held in place via magnets. It makes switching between filters and installing/packing up the system as quick as possible.
The Ulanzi 52mm MagFilter magnetic filter kit comes in a pouch with six filters and an adapter ring. In terms of filters, you’ll find:
According to Ulanzi, the filters are made from “industry-leading German optical glass for better sharpness, added protection, low color aberration, and easier cleaning.”
The Ulanzi 52mm MagFilter magnetic filter kit is available now for $219.95. Also, all components are available separately: the adapter ring retails for $19.95, and the magnetic filters start at $25.95 each. As a direct comparison, the Tiffen Smartphone 58mm Filter Mount retails for $29.99.

What do you think about Ulanzi’s MagFilter system? Do you often use filters when shooting with your smartphone? Don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments down below!
