We want to give you a short update on the status of our FUJINON 1 Minute Film Competition, which opened for submissions just before the holidays at the end of 2017.
With entries only closing on January 21st, there’s still plenty of time to shoot YOUR submission to this 1 Minute Film Competition – with the main incredible prize a SET of both FUJINON MK lenses, namely the FUJINON MK18.55mm T2.9 & MK50-135mm T2.9 (E-Mount or MFT modified versions of the lenses) for the main prize winner, and equally amazing prizes for the runners-up, with a FUJIFILM X-T2 camera with a FUJIFILM XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR lens for the 2nd prize winner and a FUJIFILM X-E3 camera with a FUJIFILM 18-55mm lens for the 3rd place prize.
Zacuto generously reached out to us to add another prize to the 1st prize, the FUJINON MK lens set: They will supply one of their Scissor Lens Supports for the lenses to the overall winner, for free! Thanks Zacuto for this generous addition. This is a very smart lens support design and a $200 value.
Check out the video below to learn more about the Zacuto Scissor lens support:

Our FUJINON 1 MINUTE FILM COMPETITION playlist on YouTube is constantly updated.
There have been a couple of concerns about how the judging of the competition is performed: part of the Terms and Conditions is that the shortlist will be determined by the YouTube “Likes” on the submitted videos. And the top 10 videos will be judged by the cinema5D, and thereby we will determine the overall winners.
Some people are concerned that this system will benefit submissions with large YouTube accounts (many subscribers) because they would automatically get a lot of likes, despite their videos not necessarily being better than others. We understand that concern but looking through all eligible submissions so far, we have not yet seen any evidence of that happening. We are aware that while this voting process which involves a public vote is not always perfect – however we want to involve our audience here because we trust in the professionalism of our viewers. However we will continue to monitor the situation regarding this concern closely, and if necessary, make some adjustments.
Please consider shooting a film for our competition, the odds are in your favour and the prizes are amazing! Thanks to FUJINON for being so generous.
