WANDRD is a “Kickstarter company” specialized in making bags for photographers and creative people on the move. After five successful campaigns, they are back with a new backpack: Duo Daypack. This minimalist yet robust bag is for day-to-day use, from carrying your photography equipment to packing your stuff for a weekend.
The WANDRD Duo Daypack is a weather resistant minimalist backpack for creators on the move. The exterior is made of a waterproof 840D Jr. Ballistic Nylon.
The inside is very modular and features a lot of smart expandable mesh/padded pockets. At the bottom of the Duo Daypack, there is what they call the pop camera cube. The pop camera cube is reinforced padding that you can pop up when you need to carry your camera/lenses. An adjustable cube divider is included if you need to divide the camera cube. When you are on a trip and don’t need your camera with you, you can fold it, so you don’t waste space.
If you like organization, the interior of the bag is full of pockets, expansion pockets, pouches, and cable organizers. On top of the pop camera cube, there are two EVA foam expansion pockets. These pockets are 3.5 x 5 inches so they can carry a hard drive, a zoom lens up to a 24-70mm, or any expensive gear that you need to bring with you.
On the inside, there is a 4mm Ripstop internal liner for durability.
The Duo Daypack features a zipper technology that they call InfiniteZip system. It is a large zipper all around the bag and four zippers that you can move where you want to access every part of the bag quickly. The InfiniteZip system gives you access to the top and sides of the bag without the need to fully open the bag. Indeed, the YKK zippers are weather resistant.
For comfort, the back panel is a molded EVA foam with dual airflow channels for breathability and support in the field. Also, if you need to carry a small tripod with you, there are two straps at the bottom of the bag.
Finally, the Duo Daypack weighs 1.2Kg, has a total capacity of 20L and it comes with a no questions lifetime guarantee.
The Duo Daypack is already live on Kickstarter, and you can get it for $164 as a super early bird. Expected retail price is $219, and the expected shipping date is the end of December.
WANDRD is a company based on crowdfunding campaigns, and the Duo Daypack seems to be a finished product, already. Still, please keep in mind that Kickstarter is not a shop or market place. There are certain risks when backing a project.
What do you think of the Duo Daypack? Do you consider backing it as your daily bag? Let us know in the comments!
