CRDBAG is a new Swedish company that specializes in creating storage solutions for photographers and filmmakers. The company has just released its first two products: CRDPOUCH and CRDWALL. Let’s take a closer look at these!
I think there are two kinds of people in the photo/video world: ones that throw all their gear in all types of bags without caring much, and ones that are obsessed with organization and storage. I’m part of the second group, and I love to store my gear nice and clean with all its dedicated accessories in a dedicated bag.
As a long-time user of the Think Tank Cable Management series of pouches, I was curious to check what these new CRDBAG products have to offer.
Let’s start with the CRDPOUCH, which are a set of pouches available in four different sizes:
As you can tell, all pouches have the same depth of only 0.5cm/0.2″, so they are skinny. It can be an advantage and a bad point if you’re trying to store large items, especially inside the LARGE/XL models.
The CRDPOUCH is made of Cordura, which is a very durable material. In front of the pouches, there is a semi-transparent panel so you can quickly identify what’s inside.
Talking about gear identification, this kind of plastic panel lets you put gaffer tape/labels that help identify your gear quickly. All pouches are closed by a weather-resistant YKK zipper.
On the outside, you’ll also find a custom Apple AirTag pocket, as well as a tactical hook for hanging the pouch in different ways.
You’ll find a zipped inner organizer pocket on the inside, which can be useful for batteries/memory cards/screws, or any other small items.
CRDBAG also announced the CRDWALL, which is a wall-mounted modular system to hang your gear. This system consists of two bars – which is very similar to truck tie-down systems – and 8 hooks on each bar. Then, there is a cord to attach your gear.
To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of hanging up my camera equipment in the air, especially because there is a risk it might fall if not attached correctly, but also because it’ll probably ruin my drywall’s paint behind the gear.
The CRDPOUCH are available now in different 4 pack kits:
As a direct comparison, the Think Tank Cable Management 10 V2.0, which is close to the CRDPOUCH Medium, retails for $19.75 each, so $79 for a 4 pack.
The CRDWALL will be available in Q4 2021 for around $200.
