Colorist Darren Mostyn’s ‘DaVinci Resolve Killer Tips’ App is a must-have reference for anyone using Resolve. The app is available on the iOS App Store (App Store link) and the Google Play Store for Android (Play Store link)
The app is free to download, and offers tips packs for $1.99-$2.99 per pack. You can also get a lifetime premium pack which gives you everything for $9.99.
These categories will make immediate logical sense to any Resolve editor or colorist, as these in fact correlate to the major divisions within the Resolve toolset.
Some of the most useful default tips include an explanation of cache types, organizing the media pool, adjusting temperature/tint, relinking offline media, as well as other problem-solving tips and tricks that may help demystify those functions and features that you’ve always known were there, but perhaps weren’t sure why, or how to use them.
Examples of the extra packs you can buy include a “Nodes for Beginners” pack, and “Color Packs” which include how to copy nodes with keyframes, highlight difference, customizing power windows, light box, node sizing, dust removal, fx tracking and more.
Having these quick references at your finger tips will certainly be useful, even for seasoned Resolve editors and colorists.
Get the app for free on the Apple App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android.
