FilmConvert, a leading color grading plug-in developer, recently released their CineMatch and Nitrate plug-ins for the DJI Air 3. This release gives access to FilmConvert’s sophisticated color grading tools, allowing you to tap into enhanced color realism, contrast, and overall image quality for your footage. If you are a FilmConvert Nitrate user, you can access the Air 3 profile via the plug-in’s camera pack downloader.
The DJI Air 3 was released in 2023 and offers a dual-camera system (24mm and 70mm cameras with 4K 100fps in D-Log M), vertical shooting, 46-minute flight time (and much more). Plus, the drone is also capable of capturing 48MP photos with both cameras, and they can be saved in either JPEG or DNG raw format. You can see our full review of the DJI Air 3 here.
FilmConvert is a New Zealand-based software company that develops color-grading plug-ins for video editing software and has provided their plug-ins for just over 10 years. The company aims to provide filmmakers with a way to achieve the look and feel of film on digital video footage. FilmConvert Nitrate simulates the characteristics of various film stocks, including grain, color rendition, and contrast, allowing filmmakers to add a cinematic aesthetic to their digital productions. CineMatch lets filmmakers match footage from multiple cameras so the look is consistent and seamless, regardless of the camera models used. The company offers camera packs that provide custom profiles for a plethora of cameras and programs.
If you are a FilmConvert Nitrate user, the DJI Drone Air 3 plug-in is free to download on their website. CineMatch users should download the latest plug-in to access the new camera packs.

A camera was put in my hands at 16, and I’ve been taking photographs ever since. An American, I’ve lived and worked in Vienna for many years both as a photographer and a photography teacher. Currently I am the photographer for the award-winning Nesterval immersive theater group. I’m a teller of stories. Stories hold my interest. I’ll take on any project with a story to tell.
