Sam Cam Systems has launched an upgrade for the original Mōvi Pro axis locks system, featuring hard-mounted axis locks made of CNC aluminum. This accessory adds to the list of items available for the original Freefly’s gimbal.
Sam Cam Systems, founded by camera operator Sam Willey, has launched a lock system for the Mōvi Pro. As Willey specializes in operating handheld gimbals, we can expect his products to enhance our gimbal experience. If you have ever used a gimbal like the Mōvi Pro, then you know that everything that helps us with its setup and manageability is welcome.
When Freefly Systems launched the Mōvi Pro, not many of us foresaw that it was going to be an industry standard seven years later. As a result, different companies have been adding accessories to the original design. The Sam Cam’s axis locks system features CNC and all-anodized aluminum and a steel spring-loaded locking pin. CNC aluminum works well for these accessories because it has a nice balance between low-density and high-strength properties. That makes it perfect for gimbal work, where we face demanding shooting environments. The system presents only hard-mounted axis locks and is an upgrade from the original Freefly’s Mōvi Pro solution. The low-profile design fits smoothly with the Mōvi Pro and is installed in ten minutes (see the video below for installation instructions).
Note: Please consider that the tilt axis lock will only fit with Ignite Digi Tilt offsets.
The Movi Pro Axis Locks are now shipping worldwide for $379 and can be acquired here. For more information, please visit Sam Cam’s website.
What do you think of this solution for the Movi Pro? Will it improve the original product? Let us know in the comments!
