SIRUI just announced the official launch of their third anamorphic prime lens: The SIRUI 24mm f/2.8 anamorphic 1.33x prime joins the already existing 50mm and 35mm versions to complete the set (for now).
You might know SURUI as a company building quality, mostly photography-centric, tripods. But that’s not all they make since they also started to make budget friendly lenses lately. Joining their 35mm (review here) and 50mm (review here) f/1.8 anamorphic 1.33x prime lenses, they now have completed a set of three: introducing the SIRUI 24mm f/2.8 anamoprphic 1.33x prime lens.
This new lens shares many features with its “older” siblings: smooth aperture, 1.33x anamorphic squeeze, metal housing. The new 24mm version is a bit slower in terms of aperture though, it sports a f/2.8 aperture, the other two feature a f/1.8 aperture.
Since the already available lenses (35mm f/1.8 and 50mm f/1.8) are quite affordable offerings when it comes to anamorphic shooting, completing a set of three with this 24mm f/2.8 version seems compelling, for sure. All three lenses share the same 1.33x squeeze factor so you can mix’n’match them easily on set.
The SIRUI 24mm f/2.8 is a APS-C lens that offers 13 elements in 10 groups and 8 aperture blades in total. When buying this lens you have the choice of five different lens mounts: Canon EF-M, FUJIFILM X, Nikon Z, Sony E or M4/3. For a complete rundown of the specifications, please refer to the table below:
The new SIRUI 24mm f/2.8 anamorphic lens will be available for regular purchase a bit later, for now you can check out their ongoing Indiegogo campaign over here. The lens will retail for $999 but you can get a discount when backing their campaign.
We are saying this at the end of every crowdfunding-related article: Please be aware of the risks when backing a project on a crowdfunding platform. Please read the crowdfunding platform terms of use. Keep in mind that there can be significant delays when delivering the product. Some projects even don’t get delivered at all.
